A website must be accessible to all. Therefore, functional-technical and editorial accessibility requirements are applicable to websites.
What is an accessible website?
An accessible website is easier to use for all target groups. Therefore, the Temporary Decree on Digital Accessibility for the Government states that government sites must comply with accessibility requirements as laid down in EN 301 549/WCAG 2.1 and must account for this in a published accessibility statement.
Platform Rijksoverheid Online
This website is built on Platform Rijkoverheid Online (PRO). This is the central platform where Central Government organisations can create, manage and optimise websites, online magazines and digital newsletters. PRO has some technical differences that affect accessibility. See the overview of technical differences in Dutch.
